About the Role
Tower Technicians are responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing telecommunication equipment on towers, rooftops, and other elevated structures. They ensure the proper functioning of communication systems such as antennas, transmitters, and receivers, while adhering to strict safety standards and regulations.
Requirements
Education:
High school diploma or GED required.
Technical certification or vocational training in telecommunications or a related field preferred.
Experience:
1-3 years of experience in tower climbing, telecommunications, or a similar field preferred.
Skills:
Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
Strong understanding of telecommunication systems and equipment, including RF technology.
Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues efficiently.
Physical strength and stamina to climb towers and work at heights for extended periods.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
Certifications:
Certification in tower climbing safety and rescue (e.g., ComTrain, Gravitec).
OSHA 10 or 30 certification preferred.
CPR and First Aid certification is a plus.
Other Requirements:
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation; CDL is a plus.
Willingness to travel extensively and work flexible hours, including weekends and nights.
Ability to work in various weather conditions and remote locations.
