About the Role
Surveyors are responsible for measuring and mapping land, properties, and construction sites to determine boundaries, elevations, and dimensions. Their work ensures accurate land development, property assessments, and compliance with regulations. Surveyors collaborate with engineers, architects, and construction teams to provide critical data for project planning and execution.
Requirements
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in surveying, geomatics, civil engineering, or a related field required.
Certification or licensure as a Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) preferred or required depending on the state.
Experience:
Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in surveying or a related field.
Skills:
Proficiency in surveying instruments and equipment, including GPS, total stations, and laser scanners.
Strong understanding of mapping and spatial data analysis.
Proficiency in CAD software and geographic information systems (GIS).
Excellent problem-solving and mathematical skills.
Strong attention to detail and precision in measurements.
Other Requirements:
Knowledge of local land use regulations and legal guidelines for property surveys.
Physical ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and on rough terrain.
Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to survey sites.
Strong communication skills to present findings and collaborate with project teams.
