About the Role
Road and Bridge Technicians are responsible for the maintenance, repair, and construction of roadways and bridges. They ensure the safety and efficiency of transportation infrastructure by performing tasks such as inspection, resurfacing, and structural repairs. This role requires hands-on work, attention to detail, and adherence to safety and engineering standards.
Requirements
Education:
High school diploma or GED required.
Technical certification or vocational training in construction, civil engineering, or related fields preferred.
Experience:
1-3 years of experience in road or bridge construction and maintenance preferred.
Skills:
Proficiency in operating heavy equipment used in road and bridge work.
Basic knowledge of concrete, asphalt, and steel structures.
Ability to identify structural issues and recommend appropriate repairs.
Strong understanding of safety protocols and traffic management practices.
Physical ability to perform manual labor, including lifting, bending, and working in various weather conditions.
Other Requirements:
Valid driver’s license; Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) preferred.
Familiarity with state-specific standards and regulations for road and bridge construction.
Availability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends, as required for emergency repairs or projects.
Willingness to travel to job sites as needed.
