About the Role
Operates machinery for construction projects, ensuring safety and efficiency.
Responsibilities:
- Operate machinery like bulldozers, cranes, and loaders.
- Perform routine checks and maintenance on equipment.
- Follow project specifications and safety protocols.
- Collaborate with site supervisors for task execution.
Requirements
Education:
High school diploma or GED required.
Completion of a heavy equipment operator training program or apprenticeship preferred.
Experience:
Minimum of 2-5 years operating heavy equipment in construction or related industries.
Skills:
Proficiency in operating multiple types of heavy machinery.
Knowledge of basic equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
Ability to read blueprints, maps, and equipment manuals.
Strong spatial awareness and coordination.
Understanding of soil types, grading, and excavation techniques.
Other Requirements:
Valid state-issued equipment operator certification or license (if required).
Familiarity with OSHA and state safety regulations.
Physical ability to sit for long periods, lift heavy objects, and work in extreme weather conditions.
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation; CDL (Commercial Driver’s License) preferred.
