Certified Welders are skilled professionals responsible for fusing metal parts using specialized welding techniques. They work on various projects, including construction, manufacturing, and infrastructure, ensuring all welds meet industry standards and safety regulations.
Requirements
Education:
High school diploma or GED required.
Completion of a welding certification program from an accredited institution required.
Certifications:
AWS (American Welding Society) Certification or equivalent is required.
Additional certifications in specific welding techniques (e.g., ASME, API) are a plus.
Experience:
2-5 years of professional welding experience preferred.
Skills:
Proficiency in various welding techniques, including MIG, TIG, and Stick welding.
Knowledge of welding equipment, tools, and safety procedures.
Strong attention to detail and ability to produce high-quality welds.
Ability to work with precision under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Familiarity with industry codes, standards, and best practices.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift heavy materials and stand for long periods.
Physical stamina to work in challenging environments, including confined spaces and at heights.
Strong hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
Other Requirements:
Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to job sites if required.
Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and overtime, as needed.
